Living on the NSW Illawarra/Shoalhaven Coast certainly opens the doors for folks such as myself, to the many and varies species able to be caught during a fishing session.
The loactions range from Jervis bay and it's major locations as well as River access to the Shoalhaven river and many fine estuary systems all of which hold good numbers of fish when the secrets to the locations and species are unlocked.
I live no more than 2 blocks from the shores of St Georges Basin, Jervis Bay, NSW.
This location has gone ahead in leaps and bounds since the demise of the professional fishermen.
There are brilliant Flathead [some of which are well and truly trophy fish], Snapper that are getting bigger each season, Bream to die for, Jewfish, Tailor and Salmon to name but a few.
The Basin as it is known locally, also has 6 Artificial Reefs Systems that have been in place for several years and are now starting to come into their own as a 'Likely' spot for a catch of fish.
Although an estuary with little tidal flow, the basin can and does become quite dangerous in given conditions and all care must be taken when planning a session on this pristine paradise.
I will be posting any sessions I may enjoy on the Blog for this site so be sure to check in from time to time and see what the fish have been doing for me.
